What It’s About: 4,000 Zulu warriors advance on a small British supply dump and hospital at Rorke’s Drift.  Can the tiny 139 man force guarding  the base survive?

Why Watch It Today?:  The Battle of Rorke’s Drift began on January 22nd, and ended today in 1879.  The film Zulu is based on the events of the battle and helped make the career of star Michael Caine.  It is an excellent war film, with fine performances, a rousing soundtrack, and an epic depiction of one of the British Empire’s most celebrated victories of a small group of determined men against overwhelming odds.
