What It’s About:  Billy Shears (Peter Frampton) lives up to the legacy of his grandfather, Sgt. Pepper (Woody Chambliss) with a little help from his friends (nearly anyone who was anyone in 1978).  Can the audience survive?

Why Watch it Today?:  It was 45 years ago today that The Beatles released their insanely influential album, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club-could they possibly have conceived that this travesty would result?  Kidding aside, there are a few decent covers buried in this monstrous amalgamation of everything the filmmakers thought would appeal to audiences in 1978, from The Bee Gees to Earth, Wind and Fire to Aerosmith to Alice Cooper to Steve Martin to George Burns.  Very few come off well, but the resulting…thing…is certainly something to behold.
