What It’s About: John Gray (Boris Karlof), a cab man who just happens to be a body snatcher in the old sense-he steals corpses for anatomists. Dr. MacFarlane (Henry Daniell) and his assistant, Fettes (Russell Wade), a young and idealistic medical student are trying to help a young girl walk again. To do so they need more bodies, and to get more bodies fast they enlist Gray, who isn’t above murder….

Why Watch it Today?:  Infamous body snatchers/murderers Burke and Hare were arrested on this date in 1828; today’s movie is based on a Robert Louis Stevenson inspired by their case.

Mo Rating for Movember:  This is a great film for sideburns and terrible hair, but there are no good Mos.  0 out of 5 Mos (an inauspicious start to Movember!)
