Why Watch it Today?:  Madame Tussaud’s famous wax museum had a major fire on this date in 1925, a fire which destroyed works dating back to the Napoleonic era.  This fire inspired Mystery of the Wax Museum in 1933, an early, two-strip Technicolor film.  When 3-D came around in the early 1950s, the story was remade to take advantage of a new gimmick.
