What It’s About:  Joe (Laurence Tierney) and “Nice Guy” Eddie Cabot (Chris Penn) recruit six crooks to pull a jewelry heist.  Each criminal only knows the others as a color.  When the robbery goes wrong, the survivors attempt to figure out which person on the heist was an undercover cop or informer.

Why Watch it Today?:  Quentin Tarantino, who first gained critical notice and acclaim with today’s film, turns 50 today.  Reservoir Dogs features many of the director’s trademark quirks (found soundtrack, movie and pop culture references, disjointed timelines, profanity laced dialogue) and was the first of many of his films to be derided by some film fans as plagiarism.
