What It’s About: Railroad baron Morton (Gabriele Ferzetti) is working on completing his railroad, and his ruthless henchman Frank (Henry Fonda) will stop at nothing to clear the way.  Will he finally meet his match in the form of young widow Jill McBain (Claudia Cardinale) who is aided by crook Cheyenne (Jason Robards) and the mysterious, vengeance driven gunman Harmonica (Charles Bronson)?

Why Watch it Today?: Today in 1869 the Golden Spike, completing the Transcontinental Railroad, was driven.    Once Upon a Time in the West is famed Spaghetti Western director Sergio Leone’s most epic Western, centered on the cost of the railroad in specific and of progress in general, featuring great performances from leads Fonda, Cardinale and Bronson and an amazing score from Ennio Morricone.
