What It’s About:  Down on his luck theatrical producer Max Bialystock (Zero Mostel) and timid accountant Leo Bloom (Gene Wilder) concoct a scheme to rip off their investors by creating a sure-fire flop…but of course not everything goes as they’ve planned….

Why Watch it Today?:  This excellent spoof of theater and musicals is the perfect movie for World Theater Day.

Other Choices: How about Theatre of Blood, which features a disgraced actor enacting a horrible revenge on the critics who drove him to attempt suicide?
