Why Watch it Today?: Italian mega-producer Dino De Laurentiis was born on this date in 1919. Although De Laurentiis is most known by film fans for his later work focused on genre pictures, he producer his share of art-house classics, particularly in his early days. Nights of Cabiria is one of these, winner of Best Picture in 1958.
