What It’s About: Supersonic (José Luis Ayestarán), intergalactic superhero, arrives on Earth to do battle with Dr. Gulik (Cameron Mitchell) and his goons.

Why Watch it Today?:  Superman was released on this date in 1978, and was a sensation, the first superhero movie made in the blockbuster era.  Needless to say, it spawned many cash-ins and imitators, and the Spanish made Supersonic Man is easily one of the goofiest, directed by the man who brought you Pod People, Juan Piquer Simón.

Other Choices:  You could, I suppose, just watch Superman.
