Cast and Crew: Hiroyuki Wantanabe, Naoto Takenaka

What It’s About:  Karate expert Yutaka Daimon (Yasuhisa Furuhara) and his robot Zaborgar (that transforms into a motorcycle) fight an unending battle with Sigma, an organization of evil cyborgs.  When Daimon allows Sigma’s own Miss Borg (Mami Yamasaki) to come between him and Zaborgar, the result is death, heart ache, and the end of Zaborger.  25 years later, Sigma is back…but can an older, humbled (and just a little crazy) Daimon (Itsuji Tao) find a way to save the day and make amends for his mistakes?

Why Watch it Today?:  Karate-Robo Zaborgar is a totally insane (but affectionate) update of the Denjin Zaborgar tokatsu series, which ended today in 1974.  Writer/director Noboru Iguchi adds a lot of comedy and some of his trademark sex and gore to the mix, but for the most part this film comes by its craziness directly from the series, as you will see if you stick around for the end credits.
