March 30th, 2013: Frankenstein Created Woman

Frankenstein Created Woman

Cast and Crew:   Terence Fisher (Director)

What It’s About: This time Dr. Frankenstein (Peter Cushing) is investigating the transplantation of the soul.  The materials of his experiment carry their usual problems:  the soul of Hans (Robert Morris) the lab assistant of Frankenstein’s colleague Dr. Hertz (Thorley Walters), wrongly guillotined for a murder he didn’t commit, and the body of Hans’ lover Christina (Susan Denberg), who committed suicide when she was too late to save Hans.  Hanstina proceeds to wreak bloody revenge of the gang of aristocratic fops that framed Hans.

Why Watch it Today?: It’s National Doctor’s Day.  What better way to celebrate than watching Peter Cushing as the most dedicated doctor you don’t want to come into your life?

Other Choices: Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed, Eyes without a Face, Mad Love, The Brain that Wouldn’t Die, Re-Animator, Young Frankenstein
