What It’s About:  Rosie (Carole King) leads the neighborhood kids on a search for Chicken Soup.

Why Watch it Today?: Famed children’s author Maurice Sendak was born today in 1928.  Sendak wrote and directed this adaptation of some of his stories, with Carole King providing the music.  It’s a 27 minute TV special, but I was introduced to it on a rainy day in my elementary school’s auditorium on 16mm, and it’s wonderful, a real treat for fans of the author’s work.
