October 25th, 2012: I Was a Teenage Frankenstein

What It’s About:  Professor Frankenstein (Whit Bissell) is an outcast due to his theories of the reuse of body parts.  When a fortuitous crash outside his house provides him with the bodies of teenage athletes, Frankenstein begins to create a new teenager out of the wreckage…but will even Frankenstein be able to control a teenager?

Why Watch it Today?: Whit Bissell was a regular presence in 1950s monster movies, but he was rarely better than he is here, at his campy best, as the high-handed Professor Frankenstein.  Bissell was born on this date in 1909.

Other Choices:  Bissell played the older researcher in Creature from the Black Lagoon
